Story Editor not working

I'm troubleshooting and old install from a couple years back.
GL Version Test (1.3.9sr1)
When I go to edit a story the proper editing window comes up but its completely blank like its not loading the data from the database. I tried another theme and it does the same thing. I tried replacing the files in the /admin folder,,, when I test the install using the / install folder it apears fine.
Can anyone suggest a fix?
