I'm a longtime USER of Geeklog. Love it. It works! In preperations to move my domain I thought I'd ask for advice before I screw it up and have to ask for help instead.
I'm running 1.4.1 on Host Service "A".
I'm changing hosts to Host Service "B" and want to go with 1.5.1
The domain name is not changing.
The directory structure off of the root is changing.
My plan is to install 1.5.1 on Host B, back up my database on Host A, and restore it on Host B.
1) Is this the best plan? Is there a better way?
2) I'm an OLD newbie-level user with great luck. I've never had to restore a database. Is there a walkthrough anywhere?
Thanks for any advice!

See if this helps: Migrating a Geeklog site
bye, Dirk
Worked perfectly! I had the entire site moved and online in less than 24 hours, including customizing the configs and combining a couple of themes.

My first post to the site was 12/26/02 and with the exception of a massive battle with Spambots in 2004, Geeklog (and Dirk!) have never failed me.
**Thank you**
