Is is possible to have all comments shown by default under the story? If so how?
thanks,
Joe
Good things come to those who wait. Of course it does not hurt to to work like hell while you are waiting.

Do you want the comments expanded by default?

Configuration > Users and Submissions > Comments > Comment Mode: Threaded

Note that this setting can be overridden by the user (under MyAccount). If it doesn't seem to work, change it there, too.

bye, Dirk

Thanks for the help Dirk,however:

Changed config.php and checked my user preferances. Both are set to 'threaded', but even after refreshing the page and logging on/off/on/off comments still are hidden until the link to 'comments' is checked.

I am running version1.41 and Chameleion
Any thing else I should be looking for?

What do you mean by that? Comments will only show up on the article page (article.php). It shouldn't matter how you call up that page, though.

I wish to have the comments displayed under the story on the main page. A userwould not have to click on "comments" to follow the discussion. Is this possible?

That's not possible without modifications to the core code.

Besides, would you really want to have, say, 20+ comments on the frontpage?

bye, Dirk
