I want to add a advertising plugin to my site. Something that either shows the small ads approx the size of the sides of the home page where the Google ads are shown. the ads might be shown instead of the lead story. It would be really great if the ads could rotate or switch about every 30 seconds so I can show more ads. If there is no such program, who could write one for me and how much would it cost.

I think people have been using phpAdsNew successfully with Geeklog. Try a search (IIRC, that application has since been renamed but searching for that name should get you going).
