Registration Email & SPAM, How to deal with it?

I am finding that many people are signing up at the site however not many are logging in.
Few people whom i know when i contacted told me they never got the email.
Keep in mind these users are mostly not tech savy. Having said that, is there something we can do to ensure that registration emails
dont end up in Bluk folders or gets Tagged as SPAM.??

Using SMTP to send the emails helps sometimes. You could also try changing the text of the email.
