My geeklog database backup files have shrunk back to 4.6 mb from 18 mb but I cannot see how, all the articles are still there so nothing has changed...
What could be going on ??

It may be the GUS plugin. Did you empty the tables? Those log files can really eat up space. After a month of use I'll have 40 megs of data in my gus tables.

Oh yes that was it !
Thanks, I can stop worrying now, Gus sure does collect a lot of data, I'd rather use it than Google though

I use both. There are somethings that Google Analytics just doesn't show you.

The Bad Behavior logs can also make the size of your database go up and down, although probably not by that much.

bye, Dirk

I do too. Especially when you combine the information they collect from the google toolbar, google desktop and iGoogle.
