Why SSH? Geeklog runs on any simple webspace with FTP.

As Joe said, that error shouldn't happen on a fresh install. We have no control over what those autoinstallers include in their packages - it's possible that their package is faulty.

And you don't need ssh access to install Geeklog (although it can be more convenient that way). ftp will do just fine - you only need to remember to edit config.php and lib-common.php before you upload them.

bye, Dirk

Okay. Thanks for the info. Big Grin

I tried a fresh download, but when I try to install it, it gives me the following errors:
Warning: main(/home/www/therealmsbeyond.com/core/system/databases/mysql.class.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/www/therealmsbeyond.com/system/lib-database.php on line 117

Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required '/home/www/therealmsbeyond.com/core/system/databases/mysql.class.php' (include_path='.:/usr/local/lib/php'Wink in /home/www/therealmsbeyond.com/system/lib-database.php on line 117

I checked the config.php file, but its all correct. Any ideas?

Where does that extra "core" in your paths come from?

I have no idea. I was just looking at that. I don't even have that directory anywhere.

Heh, sorry - that was supposed to be a subtle hint. Too subtle, maybe :wink:

Looks like you set $_CONF['path'] = '/home/www/therealmsbeyond.com/core/';

Btw, you did understand the bit about public_html? Because I feel that could be your next question ...

bye, Dirk

It was something I missed in the config.php file. I corrected it and it installed fine. Now to check if I have the same SQL errors again.

Everything is finally working as it should. Now all I have to do is figure out how to put 7 RSS feeds, which display a portion of the latest "story" in each topic, on a static index page.
