I am wanting to set up my site's user registration so that it makes the user choose an option that puts them into a certain group already made. Is there a way to do this?

Assuming you can program PHP, you need to look into the custom registrations stuff in lib-custom.php.

I don't know how, I'm not very internet savvy. Would it be very complicated or do you know how to go about it once in that file? If not, that's alright. Thanks for the reply.

Try searching for "custom registration". There's some sample code in your lib-custom.php already and quite a few posts here in the forums.

Some PHP knowledge required, though.
