Geeklog local subnet connect problem

I have a strange problem were I try to connect to my Geeklog server from any pc on my internal trusted subnet it does not load correctly (no images or login capability). It also take a very long time to load a partial screen. The Geeklog server resides in a DMZ provided by a Soekris pfSense firewall.
All other connections to the same server using SSL, HTTP, phpmyadmin... all work fine from any of the internal trusted pc's. Also, When I connect to the Geeklog server from any external untrusted pc it load fully and all the modules work fine.
There is no filtering from any of the internal trusted subnet to the DMZ servers.
So what is preventing a proper connection from a local subnet? I even tried to put a pc on the DMZ subnet with the same results.
Thank you in advance, JohnF

This is probably not a geeklog issue. You might get a better response from whomever supports Soekris. Web apps in general have no concept of subnets. That's a network issue not an application issue.

Geeklog will use $_CONF['site_url'] for all of its URLs (including images, for example). So that should be a URL that works both from inside and outside of your network.
If that's not possible, you could try setting $_CONF['site_url'] to an empty string.

I simplified the test.
I connected the Geeklog server to a basic 10base-T hub. I then connected a laptop to the same hub. Both having static IP addresses on the same subnet. I disabled the laptop XP firewall and can ping back and forth from laptop to the server.
I verified operation by using the same laptop and connecting to an external WAP (good neighbors) and connecting to the server. Everything works great including the Geeklog server.
Connecting from the laptop to the server across the hub I got the same results were-as the HTTP and SSL functions work but the Geeklog application will not load. As I see it, this is not a network problem.
When I ran the apache server on a local pc that had a (monitor, keyboard...) I could use the local X11 and connect directly to the apache server for admin. Now that I am running headless on a SBC (Its 100% solar powered with SSH term admin) I have created a challenge for myself. I will take a look at what you suggested.

Have a look at this simple faq Where is my php.ini?
If you call that page directly, does it work or not.
If it doesn't work, it´s a network/php/webserver challenge ...
If it does work fine, then the geeklog experts can kick in much easier ...
So give that one a try and confirm that one works fine, then Dirk´s suggestions will most probably fix it ...

I did hit a snag while trying to use the "Private Messages" user function where-as the error response was that it could not find the server url. So far, everything else looks good. I need to keep working my way through the functions.
