Of course I want to change my path from mydomain/Public_html to just mydomain/ after I installed geeklog. So my question is, do I need to delete the entire contents and start off with a fresh install so I can complete the preinstallation steps? or are there some changes I can make in the config file paths? The purpose of this is that I want prople to just type in my URL and get there w/o extra extentions (i.e Public_html ).

See if your hosting service has an option that lets you specify what your document root is. You could simply point that to the public_html folder (and change the URL in config.php, of course).

Otherwise, you'll have to move the files around. No need to run the install script again, though. Just make the adjustments in config.php (paths and URLs this time) and lib-common.php

bye, Dirk

Dirk-

Thank you for your quick reply on this. I should have no problem playing with the files and paths.
I just joined the forums today and have been looking at them now for several days since the installation of this program and I'm absolutely amazed at the amount of time you have put in on this forum/program...you are the king and I give your my virtual handshake. Thank you.
