I have installed the ban plugin. Now, I need to find the IP address/header from the spammer. What's the best keyword string to look for? I've looked for "mode=new" but that's not giving me the info I want. I am going to increase the amount of info generated by Apache for the logfile... I'd love to match a UID to an IP address easily.

Any known hacks (command line unix) to do this without installing yet another plugin?
