Lady needs some help...How do i?

I do not want to use the menu plugin it is to techinical for me.
How do I create a "menu" where I can link my static pages (or any pages) to?
I guess I am wanting to know how to make different menu's with different menu names (kind of like the ones found on the left of this page).
What type of Block would it be? And how do I do it?
