Hi could anyone help me - problem with installation of Forum 2.32
On my demo site I managed to successfully install Forum 2.32 and it work beautifully. However on my actual site I just could not install the Forum plug-in. After uploading all files from the plug-in, I can see the "forum plug-in install" link in the Plug-in editor. But when I click on the install link, the plug-in did not install, and there are no error message. The page simply loads again the install button and the message is "forum plug-in not install". I try agaian and again and the results is the same.
I did not have this problem on my demo site (where I used to test Geeklog and other plug-ins). Both my demo site and the actual site are hosted with different hosting companies and server configuration is slightly different.
On both sites the Geeklog are installed using CPanel Fantastico
Demo server : Operating system Linux Kernel version 2.4.21-27.ELsmp Machine Type i686 Apache version 1.3.36 (Unix) PERL version 5.8.7 PHP version 4.4.2 MySQL version 4.1.19-standard
Actual Site server : Operating system Linux Kernel version 2.6.17.1 Machine Type i686 Apache version 1.3.36 (Unix) PERL version 5.8.7 PHP version 5.0.4 MySQL version 4.1.19-standard-log
Can anyone advise me what is wrong?

Hi, how can I check this ? Thanks.
What you do make a php.ini file in wordpad and upload it to all the directories the forum is in. Enter one line register_globals=on save the file and upload
I want to thank Johan as well. As I recently had to migrate my Geeklog site to a new server and afterwards, the Forums were no longer working as they had been. Even though the new server had register_globals=on in the php.ini pre-installed in the web root, adding it to the Forum directories resolved the problem I was having after the migration.
