freakingout
Great system, but cant for the life of me figure out how to do ANYTHING with it. Plugins wont install properly, cant figure out how to edit the layout so that certain things on the top nav are removed... Can someone help me

Also, the wiki sux0rs big time!, over half of it isn't written, and then i wonder how accurate things are for older versions, since i'm using 1.4.

any sort of decent documentation you can point me to would be a lifesaver, as I can't find any, and honestly am really impatient when it comes to forums. I want to find the answer, fix the problem, and move on, not waste 3 days waiting for someone to pickup my problem, or eventually figure out that people are ignoring me because they think the question has already been answered. If it has been answered, at least point me to where i can find such answer.. because i can't find anything helpful for what i want to do at the moment.

embarrassed
ok so the above post was prolly a little rude, and i'm sorry, i'm just really frustrated. I found the FAQ, and that seems to have a lot of good info. But I still have a question:

how to setup mail so it works. i have been fighting with mailservers for 3 days trying to get something reliable installed... Is there any way NOT to HAVE to use a mailserver?

any help would be reatly appreciated.
Thx in Advance
Rick

Configuring email (Geeklog 1.3.9 and newer versions) is also in the FAQ ...

bye, Dirk

I've read that.. the problem is that the FAQ presupposes that you have a up and running postfix, or similar, server. I can't get that far. I'm sure my geeklog config is actually correct as far as linking to the backend (i've been over it 40+ times), but the backend itself is misconfgured in some way...

You can use SMTP, which can be a mail server somewhere else. And if you're misconfigured your own mail server, that isn't exactly Geeklog's problem, is it?

bye, Dirk
