Keeping Static Pages out of search results

I want to create a static page in my Geeklog site where people who have signed up for my free e-book go to download it.

I've left it off the menu, but how do I keep this static page out of the search results so people won't find it?

Thanks,

I'm afraid that's not possible. Besides, "security by obscurity" isn't a good concept, especially on the web.

The proper solution from Geeklog's point of view would be to use Geeklog's permission system. Create a new group, assign ownership of that static page to that group, uncheck the "R" access for anonymous users and members (meaning regular users). Then add each user that you want to allow access to that group.

That still leaves you with "security by obscurity" for the actual download URL of the ebook. The File Management plugin doesn't support group-based access at the moment, but the Easyfile plugin does, so you may want to use that.

bye, Dirk
