Sometimes I use a featured item from a plugin and I don't need stories. But surely you agree it really doesn't look professional followed by the big "No news items! You may not have persmission!" message screaming at everyone who enters said topic.

I tried the obvious by doing $_CONF['minnews'] = 0 , but I've discovered the 0 is treated like 1.

What do you think?

Since I'm such a chump when it comes to actually fiddling with code, what's going through my mind is just to change the offending text in the language file to something more appropriate?

But I do want the text when there aren't featured items of plugins.

If Geeklog recognizes a featured item in a topic, it shouldn't say "no news".
