a href quotes

Whenever I add a link in Geeklog, for example,
Text Formatted Code
<a href="somesite">

the quotes get turned into curley quotes and then don't work in the article. The code winds up like this
Text Formatted Code
<a href="“somesite“">

What's the problem here? What do I need to do to change that? Also, is there a way I can change the default posting to HTML rather then just plain text?

Thanks,
Jeremy

No idea about the quotes. Are you using a WYSIWYG editor of some sort? Or do you copy and paste your postings from some other application?

In config.php:
Text Formatted Code
$_CONF['postmode']      = 'plaintext';  // can be 'plaintext' or 'html'

bye, Dirk
