Certainly someone has either hacked the code so you can do plain text in static pages. I put up an install for my 55 year old mother's page and she's a bit html phobic (not good at all, I have to go over and fix her code all the time before I moved her over to GL)

I know the basics are easy enough and she will and can learn them, but if it did it on it's own like the stories were, it would be easier.
