BTW you can make it a little better, look at this part of my storytext.thtml
Text Formatted Code
<H1 class="story-title"><a href="{article_url}" title="go to: {story_title} in topic {story_topic_name}" class="story-title"><b>{story_title}</b></a></H1>

Notice the title tag? I'm not sure how the search engines spider it, but it's worth trying since it doubles the keywords...

Did the same trick with the topic tag:
Text Formatted Code
<a href="{site_url}/index.php?topic={story_topic_id}" title="{story_topic_name}">

Well, it's in dutch, so the max. amount of visitors is somehow limited, only about 20,000,000 speak dutch, but I got about 300-500, sometimes 1000 unique visitors per day, 6 month after starting. The biggest increase in visitors is about 6 weeks after starting.

It might help to submit your RSS feeds wherever you can.

To optimise your site even better you have to put some structure in your site, since Google likes a nice H1/H2/H3 structure.

So I did this today:
on top of the site: a site slogan in H1
left column:
the first topic menu: H2
then a storiesbytopic block
some other blocks

in the center column:
-first a keyword rich slogan in H1 tags
-the storytitles in H2
-directly below the topic title in H3
-the story

I use multiple words for the topic title, so: weblogs, weblog software, blogs, blog scripts.
So Google sees a nice structured site, where the H tags are in the appropiate order.
