Hmmm...sounds like a database thingy, meaning, you are restoring the database, but the forum is not using that database. Are you using a combined database for GL and phpBB ?

Same here. Just got it up and running (do to stupidity on my part) but now when I try to access the Admin menu it won't let me in.
When setting up phpBB2 and it asks for the Admin username and password, should one enter the SAME information that one used for Geeklog or something different? I used the same information.

It shouldn't matter, however I have always used the same username and password as my admin Geeklog account.
Could the lot of you check some things for me?
1) Are your Geeklog and phpBB Users table synced? Do they have the exact same users with the same user ids and information?
2) Dumb question, but are you logging into Geeklog with your Geeklog username and password?
3) Are you able to login to Geeklog at all? Or is the login process failing completely? I was under the impression that you can login to Geeklog but are not being logged into phpBB.
4) Would any of you be comfortable giving me access to your server? I'd like to try some debugging, and this would make things much easier.

Err... I assume so. As no one has registered on my site yet except me it should have the same number of user ids. Is there an easy way to check other than go into the SQL database itself?

Yes.

I can log into Geeklog fine. It's when I go to the forums and try to connect. That's where the problem is.

Later this afternoon I can. If no one has volunteered I will. I'll check back later and see.

Easiest way is probably to use phpMyAdmin.

Sounds good! Today isn't a good day for me, but if you can get me a login/password, I should be able to tackle it tomorrow.

Well, Turias fixed the problem. It was amazingly difficult. Turns out I forgot to enable the plug-in under the GeekLog admin menu.
Anyone having this problem give this a shot. Should solve it.
Thanks again to Turias.

I have a similar problem and can not find the ansmwer in the forums or docs. My Bridged phpBB2 install is working nicely except when I click on the "go to admin panel" link, it pops back to the geeklog login screen. My tables are synced, I am logged into both geeklog and phpbb, there are no error messages, the plugin is enabled, I am logged in with my geeklog login (admin), and I would be more than happy to let Turius log in as admin to my site.
A possible solution would be to do #10 on the new installation instructions where the sessions in geeklog and phpbb need to match however, I can not access the admin in phpbb to see what to match geeklog to.
ANY help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I found my problem but it is only a temp fix. I had updated my phpBB to the recent update and it is appreantly not compatible with the bridge as of yet. I replaced the two admin files with the old admin files for phpBB and now the admin panel works nicely. I will just wait for the bridge to be updated

I'm planning on looking into the new version next week. Curious, though, are you replacing the entire files with the update or are you running the code changes tutorial? Replacing the entire file will probably never work. Instead, use this, which may or may not work, depending on what code has changed.

I just replaced files. So, I un-relpaced them for now! I will wait until you get a chance to look at it. It is working now so I dont dare make more changes. I wonder if there are other files I forgot to un-replace that is keeping the file mamangement plugin from working...hmmm.
