You have a path problem.

Check both config.php and lib-common.php for your paths.

They should be

/usr/home/www/macronet/global-villages.info/geeklogs/

and you seem to have /geeklogs/

sorry. i found the file.
my config.php says

$_CONF['path'] = '/geeklogs/'; // should end in a slash
$_CONF['path_html'] = $_CONF['path'] . 'public_html/';
$_CONF['site_url'] = 'http://www.global-villages.info/geeklog';
$_CONF['site_admin_url'] = $_CONF['site_url'] . '/admin';

lib-common.php says
require_once( '/geeklogs/config.php' );

I am using
/usr/home/www/macronet/global-villages.info/geeklogs/config.php
to login at the first installation page in the browser, then, i get that error message. nothing seemed to indicate to me in the other files that i should put that same path in the other files.

Hmmm, why not copy the first 70 lines of config.php here.
Put them between the code buttons and remove your db password.

Maybe that will reveal the prob Mr. Green

$_CONF['path_html'] = $_CONF['path'] . '/usr/home/www/macronet/global-villages.info/docs/geeklog/';

should probably be

$_CONF['path_html'] = '/usr/home/www/macronet/global-villages.info/docs/geeklog/';

Your parse error is coming from this line:

$_DB_table_prefix = 'glt; // e.g. 'gl_'

Your prefix string does not have a closing quote.

oh, my. well, it is my bad eyes on that one. I should blow up the type. but, now we are getting this error message, but, at least i get to a second window that says we are ready to go.

Template Error: set_root: /usr/home/www/macronet/global-villages.info/docs/layout/professional is not a directory.
Halted.

now, should i put back the line you had me alter before?

ok, i put that other config path back to its original state, and i got a little further. i was here once before, but it said GTACCESS so i change that setting to GTLACCESS.

1050: Table 'gltaccess' already exists

is there a place to delete this or a cache to flush?

i could not find the gtlaccess file to delete, so i changed it to gtgv now and remembered to check the quote mark. now i have an error that just might tell me where the path is wrongly entered or entered twice when it is not supposed to be

Template Error: set_root: /usr/home/www/macronet/global-villages.info/geeklogs//usr/home/www/macronet/global-villages.info/docs/geeklog/layout/professional is not a directory.
Halted.

the dir that it says does not exist does exist. is there a chmod issue? the dir is rw-r-r

the gltaccess table is not a file but a database table and is found in your database, just fyi.

and concerning your last error, it seems obvious that you have not taken Turias' advice by editing your $_CONF['path_html'].

make sure it reads:

$_CONF['path_html'] = '/usr/home/www/macronet/global-villages.info/docs/geeklog/';

if you followed this thread, you would notice that i did follow his instructions.

it did not appear to work, so i put it back to its original default setting.

again, i changed it per your insistance, and this is the error message.

1050: Table 'glgvaccess' already exists

that is apparently now the third table setting that has been created, but why is it halting here? At least two with the settings as you suggest.

as for your FYI, i came to the conclusion that the gt_access files or tables were not files in my ftp, so that is why i changed the names of them as i changed other settings. i suppose i could see if i can get into those settings and delete them -- but it seems i would get the same error message. every time i change it, it only creates another access table with a 1050 error.

now that i have changed everything that has been recommended here, i still get the 1050 error. if i go to

http://www.global-villages.info/geeklog/admin/index.php
it changes to
http://www.global-villages.info/geeklog/admin/moderation.php

and says

Warning: is_dir(): Stat failed for /usr/home/www/macronet/global-villages.info/docs/geeklog/layout/professional (errno=13 - Permission denied) in /usr/home/www/macronet/global-villages.info/geeklogs/system/classes/template.class.php on line 203
Template Error: set_root: /usr/home/www/macronet/global-villages.info/docs/geeklog/layout/professional is not a directory.
Halted.

as i said before, it seems there could be some chmoding issues. but i am only guessing because it says "permissions denied"

looks like this guy had the same problem as me by the end (after he fixed his other issues), yet no one followed up on it.
