Geeklog & slashdot rss feed

I'm having problems getting the slashdot rss feed into a block on my website.. Every time Geeklog comes up with:

"There was a problem reading this feed (see error.log for details)."

Checking the error log results with this message:

"Geeklog can not reach the feed at http://slashdot.org/index.rdf."

This is a valid feed, and I've tried different sections of the slashdot feeds for testing.. I've also tested different formats for the URI, both .rdf and .rss.. I can also confirm that "allow_url_fopen" is allowed on my server; other feeds from other sites are reading and updating fine; just not the slashdot feed..

Any idea on what could possibly be the problem with this?? I don't know much on geeklog's structure, and I don't want to start tracing the code in order to find the problem..

It appears that Slashdot's feed is down. I'm getting the same error.

Slashdot does some wierd checks to make sure people are grabbing the slashdot rss "too often". I'm not sure what criteria they use, but behind my corporate proxy I can never access slashdot's rss.
