Hi,
I am puzzled here.
I did read the FAQ and I do think I understand it, however I have following problem.
A user has all permissions except root, so Topic admin and Story Admin.
When she creates a new story, this works fine, but once it is saved she can not edit it any longer and it is listed as read-only, allthough she is owner, story admin and topic admin.
I don't understand what I am missing.
The topic is part of Topic Admin and has read write access for Topic Admin user.
The story is owned by the user and read write are flagged.
Adding the final root permission fixes the problem.
Anyone a clue what I am missing.
Thanks,
Boris

Still very confused.
I figured it out but still it seems strange to me, unless it is the same as here.
When I add the edit permission for the group it is in, it works and I guess that is what meant by the above statement.
But, what is the work around for users to create / edit / publish there stories without giving them full access to the topic so they can also edit/delete other people stories and what is the use of Read/Edit by owner if this is not taken into account ?
In analogy with *nix systems, as the faq mentions, it's even more strange as you do can safe the article once, but can't edit it.
I guess I am lost for now.

Please note that per default, topics are owned by the ... Topic Admin group (of which the Story Admin is not a member) and that group write permissions are also disabled by default.
