i have this block users online and there is always some guests 2 or 3 and nothing happens, they do not open any stories to read so i think that they do not see the option read more or something under each article

is the counter wrong or something

is it possible that i can make the title od each story change the color if u go over with the mouse and than click on it so the rest of the article would show if i click on it

Garfy,

Guests
Most probably if you check your webserver log you will see that these guests are spiders crwaling your site.

So the counter is correct, because it won´t increase by spiders crawling your site.

You can change that behaviour in your stylesheet of your theme if you use any of the common themes.

Look for hoover and play around.

Text Formatted Code
a:hover.non-ul {
  color:#000000;
  background: transparent;
  text-decoration: none;

I didn't know you could do non-ul, that is pretty sweet.
Yes I am mental.

"non-ul" is just a class name--not a pseudo anything.
you can find class="non-ul" in your template files.

Yeah I tried it after I posted that and it didn't do what I thought it would. I figured I would have heard about it before if it did, but I was excited anyways.

Not to forget
  • Worms (variants of the Santy and Spyki worms are still rampant)
  • Referrer spam
  • Script kiddies

I really recommend reading your logfile, it can be quite entertaining ...

bye, Dirk

Add
  • Comment spammers
to that list. We just had something here that bordered on a DDoS attack - up to 10 spam posts per minute.

Thankfully, the SpamX plugin caught every single one of them.

bye, Dirk
