newbie question re: adding am advertising block.

I'm looking at add a banner to the side of my GL homepage, I did a search and found this:

"Admin Functions > Blocks.
Create new block w/title 'Supported by:'
add html code for links."

I've added a block and put the html code under "block content" and pretty much that's all I've done...the banner is showing as a red 'x' have i done something wrong?.

Thanks,

Kanadian

THe red X tells you the image your pointing to is not where you say it is. Right click on the red X and look at the properties is that where you expect it to be located?

Try looking at the SCR attribute of your IMG tag.

Basically it is a path issue.

Blah Blah Blah Blah ...

I'm doing the same thing, but I have a slightly different issue. I'm using a Javascript to randomly select from several ads, but when someone clicks on a link bringing them to say, the forum plugin, the ad doesn't display. Looking at the server logs, it's showing that it's looking for the ad in the forum directory. Of course, I'm using the forum as an example, but it happens to all subdirectories.

Anyone have any ideas?

Use explicit URLs. Don't say HREF="myad.php", say HREF="http://www...../myad.php. Same thing with the images.
