Turning off censorship?

I was reading articles on here about people having trouble making their site stop filtering words.

One of the articles said that once a word is censored, you can't stop it from being censored. Is that true? Is there any way to change it?

Not really, new content is filtered thru the censor list when it's created or saved. You can edit the censor list in your config.php.

Additionally, in the forum admin->settings you can disable the censor filter - forum only.

I know. I deleted every word in the list, as I wnat filtering off, and setting censormode to 0 didn't work. There's nothing in the list, and it's still censoring.

Setting $_CONF['censormode'] = 0; will turn off the censoring.

However, any posts that were posted before you turned it off will still be shown as censored, as Geeklog stores the censored post, not what the user actually entered.

bye, Dirk
