Trying to install multifaq into GL 1.3.10rc2 and get the following in my error log:

Text Formatted Code
Tue Nov  9 03:25:03 2004 - Inserting default data into mfaq_topics table
Tue Nov  9 03:25:03 2004 - 1136: Column count doesn't match value count at row 1. SQL in question:
Tue Nov  9 03:25:03 2004 - Error inserting default data into mfaq_topics table

I've checked throughout the forums and have only found a similar error with the forum plugin discussed, but the one reply that says to click the install button again and it will work obviously is not correct. Any ideas? Thanks!

Sounds strange to me. I checked the code in the recent versions and could not detect errors with this. Which version of the plugin are you using?

Hi,
I use GL 1.39 sr2, I had beentrying to install the multfaw plugin the first error I came across was

Text Formatted Code
INSERT INTO 3in1_mfaq_topics VALUES (1, 'How do I...', 'General guides');

so in the multifaq confi.php, I changed mfaq_topics and the rest to conform with my tables like this 3in1_mafaq_topics etc as instructed.

Now I do not see this error again but instead, I came across this following error from my error Log:

Text Formatted Code
Fri Nov 12 01:03:16 2004 - Attempting to install the multifaq Plugin
Fri Nov 12 01:03:16 2004 - Creating: mfaq_lang
Fri Nov 12 01:03:16 2004 - 1064: You have an error in your SQL syntax.  Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '(`l_id` int(11) NOT NULL auto_increment, `language` text NOT NU. SQL in question:
Fri Nov 12 01:03:16 2004 - Error Creating mfaq_lang table
Fri Nov 12 01:03:16 2004 - Attempting to unregister the multifaq plugin from Geeklog
Fri Nov 12 01:03:16 2004 - Removing Table
Fri Nov 12 01:03:16 2004 - Removing Table
Fri Nov 12 01:03:16 2004 - Removing Table
Fri Nov 12 01:03:16 2004 - Removing Table
Fri Nov 12 01:03:16 2004 - Removing multifaq Admin Group
Fri Nov 12 01:03:16 2004 - Removing root users from admin of multifaq
Fri Nov 12 01:03:16 2004 - Removing multifaq.admin feature and rights to it
Fri Nov 12 01:03:16 2004 - Removing multifaq.view feature and rights to it
Fri Nov 12 01:03:16 2004 - ...success

Is there any one to help? I may end up not using this plugin as I can see there is no much help on the multifaq in the GL Forums.

I just revived from a GL disaster, Plase Help.

I can help you. I wrote the plugin.
please tell me which version of THE PLUGIN, you are using.
Anyhow I dont see why you need to change the config.php tables.
Where di you find that instruction? Just leave it as it is.

Anyhow what makes you think that there is not much help for this plugin?
There has been one question so far up there, and I answered it...
just because there are not many questions does not mean the support is bad!

Please make sure you get the latest version of the plugin from

https://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=121539

Hello,

Thanks for the reply, please bear in mind that I am not complaining all I need is help to get the multifaq going, so far all the error messages above are what I've got and nothing else.

I did not tamper with the config file, I don't edit or do anythig to scripts that are just installed unless the manual say so.

I will appreciate all help you can render to get the multifaq going in my site. I'd installed Version 2.0

Regards
