Feature Request: email verification

Didn't find this anywhere with a quick search .. I think this would be a great addition (I'll probably hack it into my own site at http://massivechange.com ).
Would be nice to have an "Enter your email" and "Verify your email" set of form fields, and maybe a small js script to compare them. I see probably 5-10 logins a week go to /dev/null for email typos that are pretty obvious ones
