I just noticed a peculiarity. I have my GL set to show the full name of the author, instead of the login name. But right now on my front page I have two article intros, the first with my login name and the second with my full name. Looking back through the articles I found at least one other with just my login name.

When I edit the article, my full name shows up on the edit page. If I re-save, I still only get my login name. Quite the enigma.

Any ideas?

Is one of those articles the featured story? Remember that it uses its own set of template files, so you probably didn't change them to use the full name instead of the username.
