How do I remove the search tool?

Hi, I know it's a noob question but I'd really like to know how I can remove the search bar. I've got a big logo and it doesn't look right having it to the left with the search bar crunched up.

You probably have solved this by now.
If not, edit header.thtml of the layout you are using and look for search.
