ok... this seems pretty simple and i see that it's possible because it's configured on this geeklog site... but...

i need to configure a topic so that it can be seen, but only a certain group is able to post to it... it's just like the "Announcements" section on geeklog.net... everyone can see it, but only those with permissions and post to it... i really do'nt see any settings to control submit permissions, only read and edit...

Any suggestions?

I not sure what you see on this site, but what you want is currently not possible.

Geeklog's philosophy is "if you can see a topic, you can submit stories for it".

Is this "gl-philosohy" going to change in near future?

I need a topic or two where only a small group is able to post. Everybody should be able to read it of course. Other topics are open to all registered members.

Just thinking if I should stay with gl or move to another system...

Depends on if and when someone implements this. It's not high on the list, though, at least not for 1.3.10.


There's always the submission queue to catch any unwanted posts.
