Is it possible to email the author of a story whenever comments are added to that story?

Geeklog 1.3.10 will support comment notifications being sent to the site owner (similar to the exisiting notifications for submissions) - that's already implemented in CVS.

Extending that to notify the story's author shouldn't be too complicated, although that should probably be configurable (for the author).

I'd suggest you submit this as a feature request.
