under preferences new users can uncheck in order to not to receive emails from admin.

how can i disable that feature, so that users not able to uncheck it?

Look inside of layout/yourtheme/preferences/privacyblock.thtml

Then, just delete the emailfromadmin section.

i want to install the dotcom theme

the problem is that it does not have any zip file download. i assume that i would download a zip file, umpack it and upload inside a specific directory in my root... like the other themes. but in this case it has a single file. i have no idea what to do with it.

That is a compressed file.

tar -zvxf
will uncompress it in unix.

Winzip should work in windows. Just drop the resulting directory in your layout folder.

You better use WinRAR instead of Winzip, which often makes inclomplete or damaged PHP files...
