i've just recently isntalled netpbm, everything seems to work fine, however, it ALWAYS gives me an error saying that it couldn't copy the tmp.jpg to xxxxx.jpg .
the perms are okay, netpbm does scale the image, but as he gives me an error, the story is never created. i've double checked the paths, everything seems OK.
Would apreciate help... thx in advance Smile

Silly as this may seem, this has been known to happen to some people before:

Did you remember to uncomment the "path to netpbm" config.php variable?

yes i did, that's why i don't have aclue on what's missing here Confused

i've read the other post regarding to this subject, and basically it seems they have trouble copying the file. i don't see any tmp.jpg (copied already? deleted? not even created?) i see a file wich seems to be the file related to the article already (or the upload), i don't see the original file (xxxxxx_1_original.xxx i think...) and... nothing more.

now that i see it, it doesn't even get to resizing the image Frown

Try uncommenting the line

$_CONF['debug_image_upload'] = true;

in your config.php. Geeklog will then log what it's doing during the image upload in error.log. See if that gives you any insights on what's going wrong.

bye, Dirk

Hmm, good point. Since I'm living in a Windows-free zone, I couldn't tell, though.

You could try switching to one of the other supported image libraries (ImageMagick or GD), as the calls for those don't use pipes.

bye, Dirk

understandable issue. most of my coleagues who use basically *nix have a lot of trouble when they switch to windows (basically, games...) lol.

well... just hope that will be fixed in a next release... i can't actually use imagemagick here (needs root access i guess... server doesn't want).

after a few kicks, gdlib doesn't seem to work too Rolling Eyes Question
gotta browse the foruns on this one.

Hope that will be fixed in a next release Wink
thx Wink
