Parse error when trying to log in

When i try to login on my geeklog site is get the following error. I also get this error when i try to create a new user.
Parse error: parse error, unexpected $, expecting T_VARIABLE or '$' in /usr/local/slash/apache/vhosts/consumentonline.nl/httpdocs/geeklog/users.php on line 828
Can anybody help me!?
I used winrar to extract the files and i only use notepad to edit files.
