I'm fairly new to geeklog but absolutely loving it.

Is there a way to limit access to the site-wide calendar to a certain group? Disallowing anonymous and logged-in users from viewing it?

You can block access to the entire calendar for anonymous users by setting a flag in config.php. For individual events, use Geeklog's permission system.
