new install. keep getting "index of"

When I type in http://www.nycparenting.com, I keep getting index of with the directory for the site. What did I do wrong?

Make sure your webserver is configured to accept a index.php file.

For Apache, it would be something like

DirectoryIndex index.php

in the htppd.conf or a local .htaccess file.
