The reference to *forum* makes me wonder if there's something I need to configure w/r/t the forum plugin. The path up until "forum" is built correctly.

Did you read the forum install documentation? There should be a folder in layout/yourtheme called forum that contains all of the theme-specific forum files.

Ah, the documentation, yes, very good thought.

I had failed to migrate the forum html files from 1.3.8 to my test 1.3.9. Once I moved them, everything ok.

GL 139 now up and running. Built my first new feed. Yay!
