Crazy stats problem Help please

I usually get 12 to 15 hundred hits a day but between March 2nd and March 4th the stats are showing i got over 25 thousand hits. My system stats do not seem to suport this.
What can be happening?

Sorry, it's not at all clear what your problem is. And which stats are you referring to? Geeklog's, the Stats plugin's, ...?

Don't you have access to your webserver's logfiles?

The "Total Hits to the System" counter is increased every time lib-common.php is loaded, which in turn is included by every of the publicly accessible .php files.
