I noticed that in this particular file the maxlength is set to 16 for the input. A lot of email addresses are longer than 16 chars, and in the instructions on that page is asks to enter either username or email address. I do know that the username field in gl_users is set to varchar(16). I guess my question is, if I do change the maxlength to be... maybe 25-30, will it break anything else?

Look again. The field for the user name is restricted to 16 characters (which is the max. length a username can have in Geeklog).

The second field, for the email address, is set to size="16" maxlength="96", so you can enter up to 96 characters.
