New files are indeed published in the "What's New" Block, but what about files' comments? How am I, as a webmaster, suppose to know there is a new comment? Go over every file in my database? Meanwhile, I look like
I don't care for my users.

If I'm not mistaken, the documentation of the File Management plugin includes instruction on how to modify Geeklog to make the comments show up in the What's new block. You will still need these (or similar) modifications for 1.3.9.

Make sure you're using a theme that uses the {charset} variable (instead of using a hard-coded character set), and it should work just fine.


What exactly are you referring to? The new comments or the Unicode bits?

I meant - is that external unicode file, that's up for download, still relevant now that the new version has a file called "english_utf-8"?

Sorry, I have no idea why it doesn't work for you. It works just fine for me ...

When I switch to the UTF-8 version of the English language file here on geeklog.net, the {charset} in the site header switches to utf-8, too, and my browser confirms that the site is indeed using UTF-8 ...
