PHP Script in Static Pages

I'm trying to incorporate a points bank script I wrote in a static page through PHP. I have selected "PHP/HTML" in the drop-down box, but a blank page is displayed. I've also tried using a simple echo command in a static page to no avail. It just displays a blank page. Anything I'm missing?
