URL recognition in Forum 2.2

Hi,
would it be possible for the forum to recognize text that is a URL and show it as a link?
I know it is possible if the message is written in HTML format, but then there the user must
know how to write HTML code, which is not always the case.
Thanks
Antonio

I've been debating if I really need the Text mode or not as HTML mode recognizes new lines

and a user just needs to type a message as they always would without even knowing or needing to enter any HTML. Using the toolbar, is pressing the URL button too difficult to understand - I ask seriously. It enters the HTML thats needed and one only has to complete the URL address and then press the URL button again here

A little bit of confusion comes in to play here though (we've seen it a few times on this site), when a user enters the URL, the link can sometimes show "http://http://www.theurl.com".

Most of the users on my site would start crying if they saw all the code and I am constantly editing posts caused by my (l)users' idiosyncrasies.

If thats not a good enough reason, just think about the pimp factor of having it automagically create the link!! Mr. Green
