Help using a theme

Newbie here who has spent her life creating sites from scratch and wants to be free!!!! I just downloaded a theme and have no idea where to begin to edit it. I am using DreamweaverMX 04. Any help will be GREATLY appreciated!!!

Well, start with the theme documentation. And stay away from Dreamweaver (and other so-called "WYSIWYG" HTML editors), as they tend to get confused by the partial HTML in the template files and often mess up things ...
