Couldn't find any documentation for this... but I noticed an option for "Geeklog Filter" in the Settings for Geeklog Forum 2.2.

"Geeklog Filter - Enable Geeklog filtering of HTML - Yes - No"

What exactly does this do?

In the world of html there are so many tags which could be abused on your site. Geeklog allows for you a way to limit what tags are used. If you said do not filter I believe any and all tags would be allowed on your sites articles, forum post, etc which means you would be much more open to scripting attacks and exploits whereas if you were to filter html to lets say only the bold tag.

You can find out more about this if you look into the config.php file. There you can set or remove allowable html.
