Hi,
I\'ve got a problem with my website that is really starting to annoyes me.
In a story if I upload a picture and use it in the story theres no problem the picture shows up in the story normally most of the time.
But whenever i try to access a picture directly to the URL in explorer it doesn\'t show up at all and I get the message:
The page cannot be displayed
The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser settings.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Please try the following:
Click the Refresh button, or try again later.
If you typed the page address in the Address bar, make sure that it is spelled correctly.
To check your connection settings, click the Tools menu, and then click Internet Options. On the Connections tab, click Settings. The settings should match those provided by your local area network (LAN) administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).
If your Network Administrator has enabled it, Microsoft Windows can examine your network and automatically discover network connection settings.
If you would like Windows to try and discover them,
click Detect Network Settings
Some sites require 128-bit connection security. Click the Help menu and then click About Internet Explorer to determine what strength security you have installed.
If you are trying to reach a secure site, make sure your Security settings can support it. Click the Tools menu, and then click Internet Options. On the Advanced tab, scroll to the Security section and check settings for SSL 2.0, SSL 3.0, TLS 1.0, PCT 1.0.
Click the Back button to try another link.
Cannot find server or DNS Error
Internet Explorer
And in opera the image sometimes doesn\'t shows up with no error message and sometimes it show but just the top of the image (not completely.)
Here\'s an image on my site, please try to access it and tell me what happen
http://saganews.gotdns.com:55555/mem1.JPG
Wheter it shows for you or not (remember that for me it doesn\'t) if you have an idea of the cause of the problem and even bether or to correct it, please let me know.
And in this: http://saganews.gotdns.com:55555/article.php?story=20030817162138969 story in particular only the first top part of the picture shows up for me, what about you?
Any idea on what is causing this?
Edit: mem1.jpg seems to work now (wich it did not yesterday
and no change were made in between) but mem.jpg doesn\'t work
and both images do exist and are in the root directory in
case you wonder.

Well, the image in http://saganews.gotdns.com:55555/article.php?story=20030817162138969 is defective.
Also, you seem to be looking for the images in the root of your site - but they are really in images/articles, e.g. http://saganews.gotdns.com:55555/images/articles/20030817162138969_1.gif (that\'s the corrupted image from the above story again).
bye, Dirk

First, in http://saganews.gotdns.com:55555/article.php?story=20030817162138969 the image isn\'t defective.
Once in a while it even shows up correctly (that\'s the problem
in fact, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn\'t) and if I open it
from my computer the picture is perfectly correct.
Second, the image I was using in the example, really are in the root.
I put them there myself.

When you upload an image with a story. The story editor converts and renames it and save in the images/articles directory. You can\'t put it there by yourself because it rename it to a series of numbers.jpg.
Why don\'t you try installing htmlarea plus the phpimage addon. That would make things a lot easier.

The images I was talking about (those in the root) aren\'t in any story.
