Dear Tony I downloaded your staticpages plugin and just installed it. Can you please tell me what is the "Add to Menu" option in the Static Page Editor for? Is it meant to create a Menu block or something? Do I need to create something else to make that happen? Thanks Barry

May I answer even though I'm not Tony? ;-)

Look at the menu on this site. You'll see "Submit a Bug", "Downloads", "Plug-ins", etc. These are all static pages where the "Add to Menu" option has been set.

So if you check that option, it will add that static page to the menu bar (if your theme has menu bar - not all of them have).

bye, Dirk

Thank you so much for clarifying. I am using Classic and it doesn't appear to have a menu bar. I will change the theme and see what happens. Barry

Sorry, I should have been more precise: When your menu bar has a variable 'plg_menu_elements' in it, then that variable is replaced with the title of all static pages where you checked the "add to menu" checkbox.

The Yahoo theme has this variable, Classic doesn't. However, you can simply add it there (in header.thtml), e.g. just after the 'menu_elements' variable.

bye, Dirk

Dear Dirk Thank you for following up. I tried changing the theme from Classic to Yahoo and it didn't work as I thought it should. I have another question. Apart from the option "Add to Menu" there is another field called "Label". Is this just a title field or is this something that I need to do to link the staticpage to the menu? Sorry, I am not great in this. Thanks Barry

Add To Menu and Label are used in conjunction with one another. If you check Add To Menu you must put a label...that label is the text shown in the menu. My guess is the plugin isn't forcing that requirement (yet). ----- The reason people blame things on previous generations is that there's only one other choice.

Hi Tony, GL 1.3.5 really looks good. I read somewhere that it will be offically released as stable next week. Am looking forward to moving over. Thanks for the hard work. Back to your comment. "My guess is the plugin isn't forcing that requirement (yet)." Are you saying that at this point in time Staticpage plugin doesn't use these 2 fields yet or is there a time activation process that I need to initiate? Thanks
