As far as I know, nobody has made one yet. The closest to it is to make a Topic (reviews or whatever) and post them as stories. That's how it was done at squatty.com. http://www.squatty.com/index.php?topic=Product%20Reviews . For my site I just made a static page that is an index for my reviews, which are also static pages. I hope to someday have the php/MySQL knowledge to make a GL plugin that will be capable of reviews.

Why don't you do a search on the other CMS/weblog sites and see if you find something that fits your need? If you don't know how to port it over to GL, I'll see if I can do it. Some are easier to do this than others.

Thanks, rawdata. postNuke offers book reviews as native functionality. There is also an enhanced postNuke mod (http://pn-mod-books.sourceforge.net/) that I haven't taken a look at yet. Alan

Thanks for the suggestion, Brad. If a mod already exists, I would use that. I've looked pretty carefully (I don't like to bother busy people unnecessarilySmile ), but there was always a chance that there was one already out there that I overlooked. Alan

This one is like a light version of the other one. I guess this guy modified what comes as a default review mod in phpnuke. The one in sourceforge has more features and is focused on books but says you can present a catalogue of products like Software and Music CDs with it. The Amazon associate feature in it is not GPL'd. It's free to use on personal sites, but those running commercial sites or making $50/month will have to pay a fee. So, I'll have to see if I can swap that section out or redo it. It doesn't look like either one would be hard to port over. Just some time to put them in templates and make sure everything is validated. I'll start with the light one first while you figure out if the heavy fits your need.

Now is when I need one of those embarassed smilies, where the face turns red. I found Tony Bibbs' Book Review mod, so stop all engines because it just might do the trick. Alan "The Tomato" Lattimore

Okay, I'll stop. I downloaded PHPNuke because there was more to the module than what the one guy had in his download. I kind of like the heavy version much better than the light. Let's see if Tony's mod works for you.

AFAIK, that plugin was either never finished or it's so old that it doesn't work with the current plugin API. In other words: It will need some work to make this work ... bye, Dirk

Dirk's right. The mod is versioned 1.3, which I assume is 1.3.0. and the syntax has evolved a lot since then. I've tried fixing things up, but it finally exceeded my limited php skills. (Hey, last week I didn't know any php.) I would certainly be interested in a 'heavy' version. The idea of being able to link directly to a vendor has a lot of appeal. Alan

Dirk was correct. The mod is an old one, v. 1.3. I was not successful in getting it to work, although someone with more experience with the GL system certainly could. If you are still interested, I'll be glad to 1) send it to you; 2) try and remember where I found it and tell you. Or both. Alan
