Features Stories per Section?

Is there a way to designate a featured story in each section? The only answer I've seen that is even close is Static Page on every topic. This would work, but I'd rather just be able to designate a story as a Section Feature than have to create a whole separate page to display at the top of individual sections.
Thanks for any feedback, ideas or pointers.

This is a typical answer from someone who posts comments anonymously and obviously doesn't have anything useful to say.

beanboyrjs -- you have no profile -- you're posting anonymously too. Duh.

I think there was a story/comment about this earlier. It is not supported in Geeklog currently and there is no hack for this. What was suggested before I believe, is to turn on the "make first story featured" option in config.php. Probably not exactly what you want, but I think that is all the 1.3.x can do.

Thanks. That does tell me what I wanted to know. Maybe as I learn more PHP I'll try to do this myself. Until then I'll use static pages at the top.
