When I try to backup my GL environment, I get this message : Warning: exec() has been disabled for security reasons in /home/sites/site40/web/admin/database.php on line 76 There was an error. Any idea how to fix this?

Don't know about your case but this happens on servers that provide free hosting (I cannot use this option on my e.g. www.host.sk account).
I found this solution, a simple script that does the job here
Dump it in the backup directory, set some variables and excecute it. It will create a backup file and if you want to restore the database you'll need to execute the new file.
